From Medical Science To Cinematic Storytelling
The human-centered vision behind 109 Production.
109 Production was founded by filmmaker and cinematographer Taoufik Sellami, whose journey into cinema took an unconventional route.
Before stepping behind the camera, Taoufik spent several years studying medicine. That clinical background instilled a distinct lens for observing people—one grounded in deep empathy, meticulous attention to detail, and a quiet respect for the human condition.
Shifting his focus to visual media, Taoufik spent nearly a decade exploring storytelling through radio, film editing, cinematography, and independent documentary work. In 2019, he synthesized these experiences into 109 Production.
Today, that medical precision and human sensitivity remain embedded in the studio’s DNA. We don't just shoot footage; we listen, diagnose the core message, and translate real-life stories into moving images that stay with the audience.
